Con-founded by the Denver Club in 1946, Denver Kids, Inc. provides educational counseling and mentoring to K-12 students to help them graduate from high school. Mary Penny will present ways in which Denver Mile High could join with the Denver Club in supporting this organization. |

Craig Hospital is a world-renowned hospital and center of excellence specializing in spinal cord injury rehabilitation and traumatic brain injury rehab. Join Denver Mile High Rotarians as we give the families a well-deserved break from hospital food and rehab. There will be a short memorial for Loy Dickinson, the founder of Denver Mile High Rotary, who passed away earlier this year. We will meet at 4:30 pm at Bella Vita Retirement Home, where Loy lived his last days, to view a beautiful tree the Club had planted in his honor. At 4:50pm, we will adjourn to North County Pub at 94 Rampart Way in Lowry. Join us for the Happy Hour to toast Loy properly even if you cannot make the memorial. Bella Vista

Rutt Bridges, executive Director of Understanding Disruption will be our speaker. Rutt joined us a few years ago to introduce us to the future of driverless cars. On November 20, he will provide us with an update on its progress. What are economics of owning as well as traveling driverless? What are the challenges? He will offer his observations on how and at what pace driverless cars will be entering the driving population. |

Aurora Central High School will be chartering a new Young Rotary Club/Interact Club. We are excited to be involved in some capacity.
They are looking for donations to wrap presents to distribute to children in the neighborhood near their school.
If you would like to be involved and help a little with their efforts, please donate - Unwrapped gifts.
Slightly used or new toys that are appropriate for students ages 3-14.
Our toys should not be video games, expensive consoles, or super expensive. Popular toys that our students like: -Sports toys -Tech decks -Stuffed animals and dolls -Games/ puzzles Ms. Casey Maphis

Ian Miller, Director of Earth and Space Sciences and Curator of Paleobotany at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, will speak. Denver scientists, including Dr. Miller, made "unprecedented" fossil finds at Corral Bluffs open space. Dr. Miller will summarize how the world and life recovered after the catastrophic asteroid impact that wiped out the dinosaurs 66 million years ago. |

Please pickup your orders between 10am and noon on Saturday the 14th at 1600 W. Colfax Ave, which is the FFT food storage area under the Colfax viaduct. Metro Caring is Denver's frontline anti-hunger organization, offering a variety of programs related to food security to the community. Denver Mile High and Denver Cherry Creek Rotary Clubs sponsored a Rotary District Grant and funded and helped in the construction of 5 new garden beds for the organization. We have been invited to visit the organization and take a private tour of the facilities. The facility is at the intersection of Downing and 18th streets with parking on Downing Street. This site visit is in lieu of a meeting at the University Club on that day. |

The family of Terry Fiske is planning a Celebration of Life for Terry on January 12, 2020 at Wellshire Inn in Denver. Terry Fiske was a Charter Member of the Club in 1989 and served as Club President in 1993-94. He and his wife Patricia, whom he met at Denver Mile High Rotary, were active in both the Club and the Rotary District through out their tenures until Terry’s resignation in 2014 due to his health. |

Kent Drotar, PR Director, will introduce us to the Wild Animal Sanctuary. This sanctuary specializes in rescuing and caring for large predators which are being ill-treated, for which their owners can no longer care, or which might otherwise be euthanized. Created in 1980, The Wild Animal Sanctuary is situated on grassland northeast of Denver, and currently houses over 500 rescued animals. |
