Aa' Janai Gaines

Aa’ Janai Gaines is the oldest of four children in her family and is committed to serving as a positive role model by setting the bar high for herself. Outside of school, Aa’ Janai enjoys jigsaw puzzles and other mind games that challenge her thinking.  She is enthusiastic about creating music, takes her learning seriously and lives life to the fullest.

Aa’ Janai is a first-generation college student and will be attending Metropolitan State University (MSU) of Denver for Fall 2022.  Her goals and aspirations for college include studying crime and law enforcement, as well as  medicine.

Aa’ Janai values community and volunteer activities and is a member of the United Black Alliance, an organization that provides education about African American history and culture, while working to improve issues in the surrounding community.  She is also an active volunteer at her church and participates in food banks for the homeless population.  Aa’ Janai also coaches girls lacrosse with City Lax, a Denver-based organization that creates educational and enrichment opportunities for Denver’s youth.  We are excited to help Aa’ Janai achieve her goals.
