Denver Kids and Brain Wise
Denver Kids is a program based on the belief that that strong, supportive relationships have the power to help every student reach their full potential and graduate high school. BrainWise is a K-12 curriculum that teaches young people about their own emotions and how their brain works.  The critical-thinking tools the students learn can help them understand how to make positive decisions and solve problems by understanding themselves.

In 2019, Denver Mile High Rotary partnered with Denver Kids through a Rotary District Grant to provide BrainWise training to 29 Denver Kids counselors and administrators.  Two members of the Club participated in the training.  Read more
Metro Caring
The Urban Gardening program of Metro Caring enables community members to grow their own fresh food in the organization's garden beds, the challenge being that each year demand exceeds supply.  To help them address this challenge this spring the Denver Mile High and Cherry Creek Rotary Clubs built five new garden beds and cleaned some of the existing beds. Water and Sanitation in Nepal
Thulo Parsel is a remote community in Nepal that provides guides for trekkers in the area.  This is virtually the only source of income for the village.  Denver Mile High Rotary first collaborated with the village in 1996 to provide a drinking water supply system.  The community thrived with the benefits of clean water until the 2015 earthquake that destroyed that system.  Because the Club had stayed in touch with the local leaders, they asked us if we could work with them to help. We said “yes.”  Read the entire story here soon.

Zimbabwe Women's Empowerment
A partnership of the Rotary Clubs of Denver Mile High and Highlands in Zimbabwe has been delivering economic and computer training to high-density communities in Harare Zimbabwe since 2009.  The training has been funded primarily through Rotary Grants, and in the last eight years more than 3,500 women have participated in the Grants.  Find out more, including the upcoming water project and an article in the Rotarian Magazine about our work.
