ESG:  Environmental, Social, Governance. Everyone is talking about it. But who is really practicing it and who is just greenwashing. Ryan Frazier will tell us about the practice of ESG, what it means in the ever-evolving business and government ecosytems and how it can impact us as business people, community leaders and citizens of the state and country. Ryan is at the forefront of the ESG movement and implementation of ESG programs across the nation for companies and governments big and small. He will provide us a practical perspective of its use and its future.

Lori Cloutier serves as a Co-Leader of the Plastic Solutions Task Force, a part of Rotary’s Environmental Sustainability Rotary Action Group (ESRAG). ESRAG was formed to empower Rotarians worldwide to take actions to our environment and stabilize our climate.  Plastic Solutions Task Force is working to address root causes of plastic pollution, and to help develop a global network to rethink and influence how we create, use and dispose of plastic.

Eric Lazarri, of the Civic Center Conservancy, will talk about the past and the future of Civic V+Center Park.

Civic Center Park, between the state capitol and the Denver City and County Building has gone through a lot of phases, from grand central gathering place for Denver citizens, to derelict man camp and back again. It appears that renovations, new care and restoration and a concerted effort to bring it back to its origins are winning the day. Hear what the Civic Center Conservancy sees as the current and future state of the park.

We Don’t Waste works to reduce hunger and food waste in the Denver area by recovering quality, unused food from the food industry and delivering it to nonprofit partners, such as food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, schools and daycare programs, and more.  Click here for more information.

Nature's Fynd  is a company that develops microbe-based proteins for meat substitutes and dairy substitutes. The protein is produced by a fungus first identified in geothermal springs in Yellowstone National Park .   Cary Connell, a company representative, will talk about the company's ambitions with the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. 

We will all hear the 'official' DG presentation from Jim Johnston as he makes his rounds as the District Governer next Rotary Year. But now is a chance to meet the guy behind the title and hear about his background and how he came to be the DG elect.
