Join us at the Historic Dos Chappell Bathhouse on Smith Lake, in Washington Park. We will meet a representative of the Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado. Since 1984, Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) has been motivating and enabling people to become active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources. VOC works with conservation and land agencies and relies on thousands of people annually to provide a volunteer workforce for outdoor stewardship projects.

Jeanette and Clif Hiebsch typically make 3-4 one month trips yearly. Jeanette spent her career in the field of education and Clif was an agronomist at the University of Florida. They established a non profit in 2019 to support marginalized Maasai women in the Arusha Region of Tanzania. They will share about their foundation's project benefitting the Maasai people of Tanzania to make the women financially independent, keep the young girls in school, eradicate child marriages, minimize indoor cooking smoke, etc. This meeting will also be available on Zoom. The IRC works with government bodies, civil society actors, and local volunteers to help them translate their past experiences into assets that are valuable to their new communities. DIRT (Divergent Inclusive Representation Transforms) is on a mission to cultivate intentional workspaces for the neurodivergent population to gain meaningful, integrated, and equitable employment. DIRT started as a mobile coffee truck in 2013 and now has 2 brick-and-mortar programming sites across the Denver Metro area that employ, train, and empower neurodivergent individuals. This meeting will be held at DIRT Cafe at 1785 Quebec St. in Denver. It will not be held at the University Club in Denver and will not be available on Zoom. |
