Cynthia will talk about her experience in hosting an Afghan family in her home. In late 2021, Cynthia brought an Afghan family into her condominium as a host until the family could find a home of their own. Thus began an odyssey of cultural discovery and self-discovery, each learning from the other. Perhaps the hardest thing she has done, it certainly has proven the most rewarding. Cynthia will relay the story to us of this fascinating experience. |

We will have an offsite meeting at the historic the Byron White United States Courthouse. Completed between 1910 and 1916, with its monumental presence and dramatic public spaces, the courthouse is an excellent example of the Neoclassical architecture that dominated federal building design at the turn of the 20th century. Occupying an entire city block in downtown Denver and standing four stories in height, the building reflects the academic characteristics of the Neoclassical style with its symmetrical design, classical details, and imposing manner. We will also get a complete behind the scenes tour. |
