Speaker Brooke Kent - The psychology of investing: Chicken vs. perfume
Which way do you think about buying stocks -- as buying perfume, or as buying chicken? Do you think about investments in the same way that Warren Buffett does? As we discuss the psychology of investing, we uncover common misconceptions and persistent psychological biases. In the final analysis, how well does your mindset about investing, align with the psychology of investors who exceed the market’s average? ====== About the speaker: Founded in 2014, Cecropia Capital helps affluent clients pursue a concentrated, value-investing strategy through both a private investment fund and managed accounts. Cecropia’s strategy is based on the conceptual framework of Warren Buffett, Benjamin Graham, Joel Greenblatt, David Tepper, and Monish Pabrai. Brooke Kent, the COO of Cecropia Capital, thrives on helping others communicate and connect effectively. A summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Rice University, Brooke previously worked as a researcher at the White House Transition Project, as an executive writer at Los Alamos National Laboratory, and as a marketing director and writer for both corporate and private clients. Brooke lives with her husband and three children in Colorado Springs, where she enjoys hiking, kayaking, fly-fishing, and baking.
